Marantz 4240 Receiver, Good Condition, Sounds Good, Vintage Audiophile Classic.

I am the original and only owner of this good condition Marantz 4240, no repairs have ever been made or attempted, it is all 100% original.
I tested this Marantz this week for 10 minutes on 2 speaker mode (I do not have 2 more speakers to test quad mode). I tested this Marantz with the power button always pushed in, and powered up and down the Marantz by plugging and unplugging the 120v plug, (explained below). I used two old 6 ohm speakers, and the sound coming from the speakers consistently sounded good to me, I also found:
- The volume, treble, bass, and balance controls had little to no scratchiness speaker sound when adjusted.
- The main speakers sounded good, and when disconnected and reconnected to the remote speakers output, they again sounded good.
- I heard no low level hum coming from the speakers. (The Marantz capacitors seem to still be working fine I guess).
- Headphones sounded good.
- Loudness button good.
- AM, FM, Tape 1, Tape 2, and Aux inputs all worked normally and sounded good. Phono input not tested.
- Dolby seemed to work good.
- No other testing was done.

The Marantz 4240 has 40 Watts per channel stereo mode, 17 watts in quad mode, the optional quad decoder is not installed. I see some small scratches, but zero dents on the exterior metal case.
Please Note: This Marantz was working great about 10 years ago, but one day after using it, I switched it off and immediately noticed a small puff of smoke coming from the top right rear vent, so I immediately unplugged it form 120vAC, and put in the back of a small storage closet (and forgot about it). I only recently discovered the storage closet had a small leak of rain water coming in from its exterior wall base, the Marantz never got wet but the closet was usually humid, and now the Marantz has some rust spots on some screw heads and sheet metal etc.
While taking photos for this listing, when the top cover was removed, I was unable to see the source of the smoke . I am selling this Marantz for parts not working because of that one time that I saw that small puff of smoke. So this Marantz is not functioning 100% normally.
As you know this unit is very heavy (over 40 lbs shipped) so the shipping cost will be high.
