stopper, your choice of 6 styles.
Rarely does an opportunity to trick out your entire bar collection come along like this one!
A few years ago, I purchased a large box lot at an auction in Maine.
Hidden among the many boxes was a collection of glass bottle stoppers carefully wrapped in tissue paper.
Most of the clear glass stoppers have
attached
the clearance price tag from Stern’s , a Mid-Atlantic regional chain of high-end department stores since the late 1800’s.
Stern’s moved their flagship store out of New York City in 1969 and eventually ceased all operations in 2001.
These incredible bar stoppers are new old stock having never been used.
Many have their department store price tag attached.
Each appears to be handmade as each one is slightly different.
Many of the solid glass stoppers have air bubbles and other manufacturing marks such as lines and swirls in the glass.
None of the stoppers are used, all appear to be in new condition.
There may be small flea bites from storage and handling but none that would adversely affect the display or use of these pieces.
The majority of the heavy clear glass pieces are in near perfect condition, no defects except for dirt and old adhesive from a price sticker.
The dimensions of each piece vary slightly.
I have grouped the vintage glass liquor bar bottle stoppers into several groups.
Within each group are variations in size and shape, especially among the round bottle stoppers.
All orders will be filled randomly from the available sizes.
The number in parentheses is the quantity of the stoppers available at the start of this listing.
(3) Triangular
:
5” to 5 ¼” tall by 2” diameter at the widest point on the finial.  The bottom of the shank measures about 1” and widens to 1 3/8” or thereabouts.
(1) Slender Pointed
:
6” tall by 1 ¼” wide on the finial.
The bottom of the shank measures about 1” becoming slightly wider near the neck.
A large and a small flea bite on the bottom of the shank and some scuffing from storage.
(2) Regular Pointed:
5 ¼” tall by 1 ½” diameter on the finial.
The shank is 1” widening slightly toward the neck.
(15) Tear Drop:
These stoppers all stand about 5 ½” tall +/- ¼”.
The finials have a diameter of approximately 1 ½” at the widest point tapering to a rounded point.
The shanks are approximately 1 1/8” at the bottom increasing to 1 ½” at the neck.
There are variations in all dimensions for each stopper as no two are identical.
(2) Small Round:
4 ½” tall by 2” diameter.  The shank is 1 ¼” at its most narrow point.
(12) Large Round:
They stand between 4” and 4 ½” with a ball diameter of approximately 2 ½”.  The bottom of the shanks range from 1 1/8” to 1 ¼”.
Overall, the condition of these collectable barware pieces is very good to fine.
There is no signs of use or wear, any defects are from handling, storage, and display in a retail setting.
Rarely are you are to find such closely matching decanter stoppers in these quantities with this quality at such a price.
